An accomplished PR and Marketing Communications professional, blogger and researcher with an impressive track record of B2B operations and of the Third sector.
Having lived in Venezuela in his teens, Maurice obtained a commendation on his high school Bac (best in the year), as well becoming fully fluent in Spanish. A keen interest in the environment propelled him to travel extensively, as far as into the Amazon basin at the age of 14 with a UK crew filming a documentary on the Auyan-tepui (Angel Falls' source) commissioned by the recently launched national appeal of the WWF (Fudena).
On moving back to Italy after his high school he had a brief interlude as a Radio Presenter on the newly liberated airwaves of that country, before travelling back to South America where he worked for a short while in Travel Operations. He then decided to relocate to the UK, completing his tertiary education with a 1st class BSc (Hons) in Geography and presenting his thesis at Moscow University.
He has since operated mainly in PR & Marketing Communications from Leisure and Tourism to Disaster Management consultancy (OCDS), on-line events (VEI), specialist chemicals and nanotechnology (MacDermid), chemical risks and the environment (AEA) and recently for a B2B PR/MarCom consultancy.
He is a dynamic ideas generator, yet using common sense and pragmatism to achieve goals efficiently, especially in tight budgetary conditions. As a keen communicator Maurice has been involved in the running of several high profile international projects, leveraging on finely tuned negotiation skills, as well as creativity, inside knowledge and outstanding organisational abilities.
Driven by strong ethics and integrity he has also been a trustee of a small charity working in poverty relief for over ten years. In 2005 he co-founded and became Vice-Chairman of a unique trust on European Education (see link), then becoming a Council member of the RSA (South Central). His numerous activities in the voluntary sector have also led him to acquire finely tuned political lobbying skills at regional, national and international level.
